One of my facebook friends, Aliza, sent me a message in behalf of The Lounge (155 John Street). They are holding their first annual hoody drive. It’s kind of like a food drive but for hoodies… get it ? got it? good! With that said, read this:
On November 21 & 22 Lounge will be holding our First Annual Hoody Drive. We would like you to bring your worn or gently used hoodys (or any other clothing items) that we will pass on to the Scott Mission. We’re looking for mainly Men’s, Women’s & Kids sweaters & hoody’s. You can bring as many as you like. Here’s some info about the Scott Mission:
The Scott Mission has been responding to the needs of the poor, homeless, abandoned and vulnerable of all ages since 1941 by offering practical, emotional and spiritual support for thousands of people each year. Through its efforts, the Mission, a Christian non-denominational organization based in downtown Toronto, offers many programs to support the poor and homeless in our community.
The Scott Mission offers: hot meals (served twice a day, seven days a week); a low-cost childcare centre; a summer camp and after-school program for children and youth from low-income families; free good-quality clothing; bag lunches; groceries; shower and laundry facilities for the homeless; a 45-bed shelter; and out-of-town retreats for shut-ins. At Christmas we offer free, brand new toys to over 2500 children, free grocery vouchers and turkeys, as well as a hot Christmas meal with all the trimmings.
We will be open on the 21st & 22nd from 11am to 7pm.
You can contact us during store hrs at 416-599-7945.
