Mixtape: The Moustache Men – Barber Shop Music (A Tribute to Movember)

| POSTED ON: November 20th, 2009 |

As a way to support the charity which searches for a cure for prostate cancer (it affects 1 in 6 men), The Moustache Men came up with the idea to make a mixtape, appropriately called Barbershop music.

Barbershop music is a Mix CD. It’s a collection of songs, edits, remixes, blends, whatever you’d like to call them that The Moustache Men (a trio DJ group) put together . It’s probably the best body of work they’ve been involved with since starting DJing. I am very proud of them.

The mix is up online, you can listen to the entire thing.

Feel free to tweet it, cut it, paste it, tag it, retag it, pass it along, donate to it for your own copy, whatever’s clever.

Video: In The Lab w/ Boi-1da

| POSTED ON: November 20th, 2009 |

Check out this Boi-1da interview with The Real Frequency. He’s literally the biggest producer in Canada right now. He talked about everything from samples vs. original compositions, the situation with Kia Shine and “Best I Ever Had”, other producers that he looks up to in Toronto and worldwide, who he was most proud of having on “Forever”, and why Kardinal Offishall had a similar version of the song out previously.

He also talked about possible collaborations with Eminem and Dr. Dre, Busta Rhymes, Young Jeezy, and the possibility of his own compilation album. Keep working hard…. much love 1da!
