Me standing in the back in the far right with my peoples
On Monday I went to the Canadian Club/DiverseCity Luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto. Big shouts to Bryan Espirtu, Addy, Wristpect, Photo Will, Bobby, Chantle and Burke who were all also invited to attend the luncheon of 793 people hosted by her excellency, the Governor General – Michaelle Jean.
My friend Will said it the best:
Beyond the honor of being in attendance while her excellency was speaking, I was more excited to see Gavin Sheppard of the Remix Project sitting at the head table and on the panel. But even more than my excitement for that, I was so stoked to see my brother, Jebril Jalloh aka Fresh at the head table, sitting to the right of her excellency and then speaking about leadership and inspiration.
But the 793 people that were there werent just your average, the room was filled with company execs and CEOs from banks, corporations, hotel chains, union leaders, politicians, activists and the like. I would have really pissed my pants. Like for real.
Now you’re probably asking, how the hell did we get to attend right?
Well, Michaelle Jean is leading a new campaign called DiverseCity where they are focusing on the untapped potential and talent of young and diverse individuals in our country and understanding the benefits to our lifestyle, culture and economy.
