A billow of steam rapidly escaped from the stainless steel kettle of the Freemon residence creating a chromatic rattle that unsettled MasturQ. If one were to cross paths with MasturQ in an undisclosed location, perhaps somewhere in the eastern region of the stomach of the monster known as the United States of Amerikuh, a common thought process would evolve something like this: “That is ADORABLE!!! A six year old that knows how to dress!!!” But don’t be fooled, my fellow people-watching enthusiasts, MasturQ was a force not only to be reckoned with, but to be placed on the stage of a microscope with intently-staring spectacle eyes for the day that he would unfasten and set free the realm of his existence. He knew this day was fast approaching. Currently, MasturQ sat attentively at the wooden table of his childhood, tracing the outline of scratches from dull-bladed cutlery, as his distended mother wobbled about the dimly-lit kitchen. All that was to be heard was the ceaseless rattle of that stainless steal kettle, even though it had been removed from the stove top 5 minutes ago. sssssttttTTTTTTTTTTTTT. MasturQ wanted out of this place. He imagined himself one with the boiling water. He too would rise. It would begin slow, but as time elapsed his transformation would begin. He would ascend into another state of being. Another state of mind. He would not be tied down. He would be fluid. He would be international.

MasturQ was lyrically adept, even at the age of six. But he was patient. MasturQ understood that more than money, fame, or Saturday morning cartoons, his talent was and always would be his most valuable asset. He had to nurture it, in the privacy of his own artistry, until he was ready. Talent is so often abused, manipulated, or simply unattended to. Observing a person who has been stripped of their talent is like looking at a pad of sticky notes. Sacrificing content for convenience. MasturQ wished to be a palimpsest. Layers upon layers that reveal themselves, without losing sight of the message. The message.

What was MasturQ’s message? The same message his door sings every time it creaks. The same message the led of his pencil cries every time it breaks. It does not attempt to comprehend, or even to make sense, but rather it attempts to be. Without falter, it will be. “It is my talent that will become the catalyst for this message,” MasturQ thought to himself. And then, he was flying. He could see his city down below, calling out to him. “Come back,” it said, “we have a newly renovated office space for you.” He continued to fly. He flew so high that he could no longer see the trash that littered his streets, he could no longer smell the foul protrusions of filth that emanated from his sewers, and he could no longer feel the weight that hung over his city like a damp cloth. He was free. And he began to rhyme.

MasturQ was suddenly jolted by the sound of ceramic clashing down on wood in front of him. He wiped the drool from his mouth and looked at his plate. Peas and Carrots.

His mother called out, “Come on honey, eat your veggies.”

MasturQ wanted fuel for his brain. He picked up a metal utensil, and began.

    He heard the words:
    “We customized greatly
    And they customized greatly
    Now everybody customized greatly.
Yeah, this is what you’ve been waiting for…”

Although the local weather forecast of an undisclosed location said the city would be cloud-covered for weeks, MasturQ looked up and saw Sun in the Sky.
