It should come as no surprise that the late Tupac Shakur’s legacy continues to live on through the arts. He has recently inspired a production on Broadway titled Holla If You Hear Me. It is uncommon to hear Hip Hop or Rap music on broadway but as we all know he was a true trendsetter.
The musical is not a biopic on the rapper but celebrates his life and of course his thought provoking lyrics. Holla If You Hear Me is set to hit the stage on June 19th, 2014 at the Palace Theatre in New York City. The musical will be directed by Kenny Leon and produced by Afeni Shakur, the late rapper’s mother. If there is anything to look forward to this year, it would have to be this.
