This year, NXNE brought to Toronto some of the best music acts from XXL 2015 freshman Vince Stapes to young trendsetters Rae Sremmurd. Here are our favourite moments of the week!

On Thursday night, we attended the Vans/Pitchfork showcase at the Berkley Church where we were astonished by Vince Staples’s energetic performance. The 21 year old Def Jam artist showed us once again why we’ve been hearing about him all over the interwebs. The crowd had the chance to hear some never heard before tracks and some old ones for the day one fans.

Our second personal favourite took place at the Danforth Music Hall where Rae Sremmurd took the stage right after a couple Toronto acts who warmed up crowd for the Ear Drummers duo. Seeing as thought it was Rae Sremmurd’s first time in Toronto, the fans made sure they felt right at home. Some of this years hits including “No Type”, “No Flex Zone” and “Come Get Her” were sung word by word by the entire audience. If you missed the duo while they were in town, they will be back for Nicki Minaj’s Pinkprint Tour on July 28 as an opening act.

The last artists we caught during NXNE were Casey Veggies and Ty Dolla $ign at Dundas Square on the last day. Ty Dolla $ign took the stage wearing the orange New Regime trench coat and giving us a preview of his upcoming album. The LA rapper performed his hits including “Drop That Kitty,” “Or Nah” and “Irie” as he held a giant blunt in his hand.
