An Album Review for Pac Div’s GMB

Pav Div follows up their debut album The DiV with their forthcoming LP releasing on November 27th, GMB. This project features their familiar cast of producers, their new aged West Coast sound and of course; group members Like, Mibbs and BeYoung. GMB gives you everything you'd want and expect as a  listener of their music, and if you're a fan, this will be a project you'll love, if you're not, this probably isn't the album that changes your mind. There's still something here for all hip-hop fans here to enjoy, and if you really listen, it's clear that they put together one of the better hip-hop albums of the year. ...

Posthumous Albums Just Aren’t Always A Good Idea

Whenever we lose a legend there's always a natural urge to see and hear things from the person, even more so than you did before. You know how the saying goes "you don't know what you've got till it's gone", and a lot of times, we have a hard time letting things be...well...gone. Is new music from a person who is no longer with us something you really want to hear? Working with artist, producers, technicians they have never worked with to make a project they never created? If it is, then that's great! But do you really? ...

Ranking channel ORANGE Tracks From 12th To 1st

As you maybe already know, or may not already know, Frank Ocean surprised everyone yesterday by releasing his album a week early on iTunes right before his television debut on the Jimmy Fallon Show. Very, VERY good album. Rather than a standard album review, lets rank the tracks from worst to best, or in this case, pretty good to amazing. ...

Most Interesting Moments From The 2012 BET Awards

I was suppose to go to this year's show, but due to the my abuse of my liver, I couldn't make it. Whether you thought the show was good or bad last night it was definitely entertaining to watch, especially if you have lots of black followers on twitter (I highly suggest you get some for moments like these). Beyonce and her Motley Crew stole the show and Cissy Houston made a solider cry. There's so much more that happened, SO much more, take this ride back to the past with me, hop in my Delorean if you will. ...

Nicki Minaj Cancelled Summer Jam: Who’s Right? Nicki Or Flex?

If you missed it last night, Nicki Minaj called Funkmaster Flex to explain why she didn't perform her scheduled set at Summer Jam this past Sunday. Nicki has caught wreck from prominent hip-hop old heads and the upper crust of Hot97 for her decision not be a no-show. Peter Rosenberg started off Summer Jam by dissing Nicki's 'Starships' record saying it wasn't "real hip-hop" mixed in with some words I won't repeat. After word got out that Nicki would not be performing, Flex went on a verbal assault in classic Flex fashion. Now that you got the breakdown, I'll begin. ...

10 Things I Wish Happened At The MMG Press Conference

Sooooooo, the press conference wasn't exactly all it was hyped up to be, its just fell a tad bit short of epicness. In my opinion (and a lot of peoples on twitters opinion), there were a few things we would have liked to have seen and things that could have happened. Come into my fantasy world and let me tell you all the wonderful things I think of. ...

Can Kim & Kanye Survive As A Couple?

This doesn't even sound right, right? Its been almost 2 tweeks since Kanye dropped "Theraflu" (now called "Way To Cold"), where he threw Kris Humphries under the proverbial bus, paid Wiz Khalifa some homage and alluded to a former relationship with Kim Kardashian. Everyone has been waiting for the "gotcha!" moment in this budding romance but it hasn't come yet All intents and purposes indicate that these two are actually serious about their relationship. There are a million and seventy-two reasons why Kim and 'Ye wouldn't work, but there's always a beacon of hope within every couple right? Right?!?!?!?!? ...

What Makes Eskee Buy An Album

Being the frugal person that most people know me to be, and trust me, its true, it may come to know surprise that I haven't bought my albums in my day. It really takes a lot for to actually purchase a album, especially these days where the economy is bad, gas is high and the way my account is set up, I got to transfer this money in from my savings and it has to be a certain amount in there on Mondays through Fridays and a whole bunch of other things I wont get into. I love music to death, you really want me to buy your album, here's how. ...

Trayvon Martin Should Not Be A Martyr For Racism

There has been an uproar from the black community the past month about the tragic murder of Trayvon Martin. All which is understandable and well deserved. Multiple accounts from George Zimmerman's camps, the man who murder Trayvon, say that Martin approached and assaulted him where he was then forced to shoot Martin in self defense, but when Zimmerman was brought in, a camera showed that he had no bruises or marks on his face. Zimmerman made a 911 call prior to the reported altercation saying he saw a guy walking around the neighborhood looking suspicious. When he told the police that he was following Martin, the dispatcher told him "We don't need you to do that", but we all know how that story ended. To all accounts it seems as if Trayvon Martin was killed for no just reason, but he didn't die for a cause, this shouldn't bring light onto black injustice in America, he was killed in cold blood and his known killer has not be arrested, charged or seriously questioned. This is wrong in any color. ...
