I showed love to Famous, now I’ma big up the director. Director David F. Mewa accepts nomination for his first Much Music Video Award (MMVA) for his breakout music video FAMOUS – AIN’T NO USE. Canada’s television and music industry recognizes this burgeoning director in it’s BEST HIP-HOP VIDEO category. “It is an honor to recieve my first ever nod in this category, Hip-Hop is an important part of my life.” says Mewa. MUCH MUSIC honors the best in Canadian and international music videos annually in a nationally televised award show that draws thousands to its outdoor celebration. The 2009 MMVA’s will be televised on Sun June 21/2009 at 9pm EST. Mewa will travel to his hometown Toronto to be in attendance.

Yes brother; so proud of you!
“Ain’t No Use” from the Juno nominated The I RAP NOW EP has been nominated for a MuchMusic Video Award in the Hip Hop Video of the Year category! Gotta show love to the director David F. Mewa and of course everyone that played a part in putting the video together!
Also, “Ain’t No Use” has been nominated for Hip Hop Single of the Year at the 2009 Stylus DJ Awards taking place this Monday night!
The time is near and I will no longer be that 16 year old girl you keep hearing about :[ lol. June 30th is my birthday & I will be throwing a big birthday bash early July. I don’t wanna say too much until things are finalized but if you’re a close friend of mines, then you know what’s up. Stay tuned for more info. Here are some pictures from last year’s party: My Super Sweet 16! Did I mention it was an all purple affair?
P.S. You will all be invited.

This event will be sick. Check out Boogeyme’n from The Soundquest Crew on the decks and Famous, Tona & Kim Davis performing live this Sunday night.

Here’s the latest music video from Famous, “Ain’t No Use Pt. II” feat. Oh! The video is great. You can peep Famous dancing as a little kid. I won’t front, homie had moves! Shouts to Juno nominee, Famous.
The Kid Famous always comes hard! Shouts to Mayhem Morearty & Blake. I’m loving this song x video! David Mewa does another sick job at directing.
If you follow me on Twitter, then you know that I’ve been running around the city for these past 2 days. As I’ve stated before, I’m working on a magazine with my girl Chantle Beeso called “BeSo Mag”. I will be Art Directing it and it should be out early April which is right around the corner! Anyways, on Monday we had a photoshoot with The Kid Famous which went down at the The Remix Project… and then on Tuesday we had the fashion shoot with our three models. I couldn’t make the morning shoot because my lazy ass slept in so I couldn’t get a glimpse of the girls =[. I made the afternoon shoot and my boy Terrence from Tomorrow’s Fresh was the model. He thinks he’s hot, but he’s not. Shouts to Maryam and Cindy who were both taking pictures for the magazine! I only used my bootleg Canon to grab the behind the scenes stuff.. Check ‘em out. I also have a bunch of random shots taken from Famous’ house, me & him in the car and just me walking around downtown.

Ladies, don’t you love the feeling of your hair breathing after you’ve just taken out your braids or your weave? Well that’s how I feel right now. I feel like I’m sitting on a million bucks, LOL. This weave-a-ton was so not working for me and I miss my natural black hair. *inhales* I went downtown at The Remix Project today for a photoshoot with The Kid Famous. He will be on the cover of the upcoming BeSo Magazine. Maryam Toson was shooting. Here’s some pics she took of me because I love to jump in front of the camera. Notice my hair? Do ya? Do ya?! =]

“The wait is over people! We’ve been talking about it for a while and now it’s time for the music to speak for itself. Props to Arcee on the concept; 16 bars from 16 of Toronto’s nastiest acts over classic beats from the past 16 years! Big shout to Musiklee Inzane and P-Plus on making the mix sound so right! And of course big shout to all of the artists involved; Saukrates, Kardinal Offishall, JD Era, Famous, Tona, Promise, Luu Breeze, Marvel, Mathematik, King Reign, Mayhem Morearty, Empire, IRS, Frankie Payne, Theology 3, and Ski!
Thank you to everyone involved above (as well as mans like Agile, Tink, DJ Grouch on the cuts and Big Sproxx, couldn’t have done it without y’all), our listeners, and blog visitors for making our 16th anniversary extra special! If you are in the Toronto area, come celebrate with us this Saturday at Girls Love Hip-Hop, our monthly party! Check the jump for more info, the track list, and download link!
* Just got to add another credit. Shouts to ParisHil for the artwork. Arcee on the concept once again. ”
